Join us for an accelerated version of our signature CCBW® certification course, which offers a unique blend of canine sports massage, soft tissue release, point therapy, stretching and activation techniques!

This 5-day, 150 hour course is made up of actual course contact hours, independent evening studies, and a post-course externship and examination.

COURSE HOURS

Classroom hours during course: 10 hours

Hands-on practical sessions during course: 30 hours

Independent home study during course: 10 hours

Required guided externship after course: 80 hours

TOTAL COURSE HOURS: 150 hours

Students attend class daily from 8am to 530pm, and there are an additional 2-3 hours of review every evening after class. Participants must attend every day of the onsite course. Partial attendance is not permitted.

The Externship:
To gain the CCBW® certification, there are an additional 80 hours of guided study after the on-site course. Participants complete 20 sessions on at least 5 different dogs, using all the techniques taught during the course. The externship includes a home review portion on muscle function, muscle identification, point location and gait evaluation, to consolidate the material that was taught at the on-site course. Participants will also prepare a video documenting a full canine sports massage session. Participants are given four (4) months in which to complete the externship.

Certification of Achievement: Caninology Canine Body Worker® (CCBW) certification is issued upon successful completion of the course and the full externship/practical examination.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in the CN3000LP course, one of the following criteria must be met. All participants must have at least 2 years’ experience in working with dogs. It is understood that the participant is confident and conversant in veterinary anatomy and vocabulary. Participants must be confident in assessing gaits and lameness, and have a solid understanding of evaluation of conformation, and symmetry of muscles and anatomical structures. In addition, participants must have a comprehensive understand of muscular and skeletal anatomy. The online CN3005 Canine Anatomy online course can be taken as a review.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine:
Proof of degree must be provided upon registration. In addition, all other prerequisites must be met.

Physical Therapist/Physiotherapist:
Proof of degree must be provided upon registration. Two (2) letters of recommendation from canine veterinarians are required to support registration for this course. In addition, all other prerequisites must be met.

Doctor of Chiropractic:
Proof of degree must be provided upon registration. Two (2) letters of recommendation from canine veterinarians are required to support registration for this course. In addition, all other prerequisites must be met.

Doctor of Osteopathy:
Proof of degree must be provided upon registration. Two (2) letters of recommendation from canine veterinarians are required to support registration for this course. In addition, all other prerequisites must be met.

Final-year students: Veterinary Medicine, Master Degree of Veterinary Physiotherapy: Proof of degree progress must be provided upon registration. Two (2) letters of recommendation from canine veterinarians are required to support registration for this course.
